I didn't even know him...
but I knew him of that makes any sense
Just found out that he lost his life to society's nonsense..
The way they try and break you down and make you complacent...
The many obstacles they put in your way to make you feel that as a black man you will never make it..
I didn't even know him, but I knew him if that could make any sense...
He had a few rough years but worked hard to steer clear of anything that didn't make honest cents...
Just found out that his fiancé and son now mourn because he got caught up in society's nonsense..
They fill your brain with shame, make you forget the power that is rightfully yours to claim..
Glorifying everything that naturally is unnatural to you...
Just found out that he is now a hashtag added to my timeline...
Yet another one of our Kings caught up in society's nonsense...
I didn't know him...
but I knew him if that makes any sense....
Take it slow, Calm
Whisper don't yell shh
Crawl don't run
Let Patience be alerted, Listen Before you charge
Humble your approach be patient & present.
The silence hurts the most
Echoes the loudest
Drains more of me wandering for a luck in a sound familiar to your voice
How can you be so quiet
Hello..?
Hi...?
The silence hurts the Most
By: Jerria Russell
I see you, even when you look away
Feel you in the words you don't say
Love sits quiet between us two
Heavy, aching, waiting for you
Take your time I wont chase
But I'll be here, same time, same place
If you get lost, if you need space
My heart's a home you can always face
no rush, no pressure, just truth, just fate
no matter how long - I'll wait
If only you knew the curiosity that runs through my mind,
when I think of you from time to time.
If we were now what we were then, if you never kissed me above my chin.
Would you still care to?
So young
living as if you’ve lived forever
with an outlook void of time to discover.
I look up to you like one does a wise owl.
Thankful to know there are still people like you,
that never failed to make me feel the way you do.
If only you knew…
So much time has passed since I had your strong physique in my grip...
So many days since I stroked your slim body
while I was lost in deep thought..
Countless hours have come and gone since last I held you at your core...
Just a slither of memory from our last encounter remains..
The time when I spoke all those dirty thoughts to you
and you exploded all over my white sheet
I guess we can say you came..
I apologize for the abrupt missing in action case..
I'm sure if you had eyes you would see the genuineness on my face..
Now I cant promise that me going missing wont happen again.
Just wanted you to know I missed you my favorite writing pen..
When you look at me
What do you see?
Who do you think I should be?
when you look at me.
Why measure my Femininity
to your insecurities.
Does it really matter when you look at me
What do you see?
Can't quite make out the figure
maybe even consider
that you can't quite put your finger on the trigger....
but
BANG!
Who do you think I should be?
when you look at me.
People following socially constructed rules
in a game meant to lose
WAKE UP fool
When you look at me
What do you see?
Who do you think I should be
when you look at me.
Don't judge that book by it's cover
When you secretly want to be it's lover.
At the end of the day it's all just looks
and
All Women don't love pocketbooks.
Wrapped within the depths of your
unexposed..
Freely navigating each portal presented to me...
Mesmerized by the way our souls
transpose..
Intentionally loving you with every ounce of gratitude in me
I told her speak louder than words..
She said it's better to stay quiet in her world..
I dared her not to be compared..
She said it was crucial to fit in somewhere..
I told her that love comes in many forms..
She said no matter how much she desired something different
she couldn't escape from the Norm..
I urged her to let go and be free...
She said her spirit was so broken she no longer could fathom such things..

Yes, my dear you must LISTEN but more importantly PAY ATTENTION!!!!!!
Think back to the Times they acted like they needed you the most...
Was it a genuine need..... or just a hunt for a host in which to implant false hopes....
Recall the actions, reactions, constant desire for interaction....
Remember how your stomach fluttered from the strong yearning.
And now when you speak...... in your direction they are barely turning.....
The nostalgia you felt at the mere sight.. the warm feeling felt by your body at night.
Now you are getting feelings that don't seem right... experiencing sleepless, cold nights..
So now you sit and wonder if they have found another you.... someone who will finally make things worth the fight.....
But if you would have PAID ATTENTION instead of just LISTENING.. you would have heard all the things they forgot to mention.....
You Are ~ Anonymous
You really are so much more than a Strong Black Woman..
You are the Domineering Force,,
You are the original first course..
You really are so much more than a Single Black Mother..
You are the true example of Resilience…
There aren't many who can match your brilliance
You really are more than just a Black Trans Female
You are the Epitome of Bravery..
Standing in your truth and helping to break the barriers of identity slavery…
Whether it's freshly washed, slightly sweaty
or covered in yesterday's sin...
I can always find comfort in being surrounded by your skin.
That smooth flowing complexion of yours is impossible to ignore..
I mean where should I start because I'm in love with all of it
even the rough parts..
From the days when it's super clear
even those days when there are signs a break-out is near..
The parts that are covered in scars and tiny stretch marks;
sweet reminders of years of hard work and that beautiful life you birthed..
Being wrapped in your warm embrace is the sweetest thing on Earth.
